AUGUST EXECS

AZA & BBG INTERNATIONAL AUGUST EXECUTIVES CONFERENCE

Get Ready to Launch Your Year

August Execs is BBYO’s annual gathering of the highest-elected teen leadership (Teen Delegates) and a staff member (Staff Delegate) from every community across our Movement. During the conference, teens and staff come together to train on skills and strategies to finalize plans for the upcoming year. The conference will be filled with unique and exciting rotations, awesome programs, and special events.

Conference Information

Welcome to AZA & BBG International August Executives Conference!

As BBYO’s core leadership, we have the privilege of focusing on how to lead our communities, strengthen the impact of chapter and community programming, celebrate our chapters, and ensure that as many Jewish teens as possible have an opportunity to experience BBYO (and our partners) in more than 725 communities worldwide. As the world begins to look to a post pandemic era, it is an important moment to explore new ideas to launch in our communities and build relationships with leaders from around the world.

AZA & BBG International Business Meeting

The Executive Body, which consists of all council, regional, and country presidents, meets in-person twice a year and virtually throughout the year to vote on legislation from you and your peers to move us forward. We update the constitution, vote on our Movement Priorities, commit AZA and BBG to tackling big issues, introduce new campaigns and initiatives, and celebrate major achievements.

One of the most beautiful parts of AZA and BBG is the ability for any member to have a voice in what they'd like to see for our Movement.

Legislation submissions are now closed for August Executives Conference 2021.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the COVID-19 precautions?

BBYO is committed to enforcing policy and procedures for all individuals at camp to ensure the health and safety of our communities during Summer 2021. While news and information about COVID is ever changing, we are continuously updating how our programs will be affected. BBYO is working to prepare the necessary measures to limit the spread of COVID-19 and to keep our teens, staff, and families healthy. We will continuously update our protocols based on the recommended guidelines issued by the CDC, American Camp Association (ACA), as well as federal and local state governments.

August Execs COVID-19 Program Guidelines

  • All teens, staff, and guests will have a rapid COVID-19 test upon arrival to camp.

  • Our programming will be taking place in masks (pro tip: bring disposable ones). This includes outdoors in buses or cars.

  • When in your dorms or living quarters, masks will not be required.

Staff Delegate COVID-19 Protocols
All staff attending must be fully vaccinated. Currently, Moderna, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, or AstraZeneca are the accepted vaccines, but additional vaccines may be added. You must be two weeks after your final vaccine dose to be considered fully vaccinated.

U.S. and Canada Teen Delegate COVID-19 Protocols
For teens from the US and Canada, vaccination is not mandatory, but we strongly encourage all teens who are eligible to get vaccinated.

  • Option 1: You are fully vaccinated (2 weeks after final dose) and your COVID-19 vaccine card is uploaded to CampDoc.

  • Option 2: You have tested positive for COVID-19 in the 90 days prior (but not within the immediate 14 days) to the start of August Execs and must provide a note from your medical professional with the lab results stating when you tested positive and confirming that you are cleared from quarantine to attend camp.

  • Option 3: You are not vaccinated and are required to provide a PCR test taken within 3-4 days prior to the program start date and upload test results to CampDoc.

International Teen Delegate COVID-19 Protocols
There are two ways to attend August Execs: attend Movement Makers and stay through August Execs (all Summer 2021 COVID-19 procedures must be followed, but vaccination is not mandatory) or attend only August Execs if fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two weeks after your final vaccine dose).

What do I need to do before it starts?

Before we welcome you to camp...

There are three key steps for all delegates to complete before they are fully ready for August Execs.

  • Step 1: All Staff and Teen Delegates must register using the links above by Friday, May 28

  • Step 2: Schedule a meeting with all your Staff and Teen Delegates to work through your August Execs Prep Agenda.
We recommend doing this once in May/June and then again right before you leave in August!

  • Step 3: Sign up for the sessions and experiences you want to attend in early August.

What is the weekend going to look like?

We'll be planning, learning, and laughing (a lot).

The 97th Grand and 77th International Boards and the August Execs Planning Team are hard at work bringing you all the tools and strategies you need to make this year the best one yet for AZA & BBG. Each day will be filled with group experiences, small group training, time to network, and of course, planning time for your communities.

We're going big on Sunday.

For the second year in a row, we’re excited to invite you, aspiring leaders in your community, your regional board, and your chapter boards to join us for Global Network Launches on Sunday, August 22 led by the International Boards. You’ll get to hang with Alephs and BBGs leading with you around the world and get the tools you need to prepare to kickoff the year.

Teens from Europe, Africa, FSU, Australia, and China will meet from 14:30-16:30 CEST and the Americas will meet from 12:30-2:30 PM ET. This is for all teens who currently hold a leadership position or are interested in helping to lead their communities (at all levels), so spread the word and have your friends sign up here.

Is this excused from school?

Of course.

If you need the school excusal note, please feel free to edit and use this one!

How can I be involved if I am not a Community President?
